Day 2

Better day now that we got some sleep. The birdies of Maui had us up at 5:30 local time. Off to the beach for the first time this trip. The sand and air was as warm as could be but the water was a bit cold and I was too chicken to go in just yet. Stayed out for about 1 1/2 hours then went back to the condo to clean up and then off to Queen Kamehameha Mall in Kahului to look for some better sandals/flip flops for Nancy. We found her a pair of both at the Walking Company. If you need good shoes for walking that is the place. We tried to go to Hot Dog on a Stick for lunch but they were closed! I am very sad as I was looking forward to a couple of Corn Dogs and some fresh lemonade. Oh well…

We headed back down to Wailea and went to Cheeseburgers in the Shops of Wailea for lunch instead. After that I went to Tommy Bahama’s and made out like a bandit with my $50.00 off with $100.00 or more purchase. We got a cool collar, leash and Puppy loofah toy for Riker at Elephant Walk and some other supplies at the Whaler’s General Store. Back to the condo and off to the beach for me. The water was perfect by now and I went for a much needed swim in Mother Nature’s soothing waters. Now I feel like I am here…feels like home to the soul 🙂

Back to the condo and got cleaned up and then went to Cafe O’Lei for dinner. Wow what a fantastic place. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. Nancy had Macadamia Nut Crusted Breast of Chicken with Lemon caper butter sauce, mashed red rose potatoes. Oh My! as Uncle George would say! Roast Prime Rib of Beef with jus and mashed red rose potatoes for me. Just as good as Mother Tucker’s used to be!

Back to the condo to wind down with some wine for Nancy and some scotch for me and an early night for both. It’s great to be back in Maui…
