Day 5
Nancy and I went to Big Beach early in the morning and there was hardly anyone there yet. After the lifeguards showed up then the crowds starting coming. The waves were breaking very close to shore so Nancy stayed on the beach while I get a few good waves for body surfing. The water was the clearest I have ever seen, even clearer than Wailea or Polo beaches.
After we got back to the condo and washed off all the sand and salt we headed back up to the airport to pick up some special guests. Kathy and Luis arrived at about 1:35 Maui time today. This is their first trip to the islands.
After picking them up, we went to the condo to drop their stuff off and get changed into swimsuits, then headed straight for Wailea Beach. Beautiful. Hot. Fun waves. We spent an hour or two there, enjoying the beach, then back to the condo to shower off the salt, down to the Shops at Wailea for drinks at Tommy Bahamas (today, it was mango coladas for the girls and scotch and beer for the guys). We went to Cheeseburgers in Paradise for burgers, which were way too greasy, and then wandered and shopped a bit. Nancy and Kathy both got lured back into Blue Ginger, where they both spent more money!
Back to the condo to crash. Everyone was tired.
