Day 3
Started the day at 5:30 by walking over to the Cinnamon Roll Place in the strip mall next door. Nancy had a huge cinnamon roll and coffee and I had a giant slice of Banana and Macadamia Nut bread and O.J.
Neither of us could finish it and we headed back to the condo for a little bit. I then went down to the beach to try my first few shots with the Canon to see whatI could do. Not the best but better than I have done in the past. We will be leaving for Makawao in the Upcountry in a little bit and then it’s on to the airport to pick up Kara!
At Makawao shortly after 10:00. Picked up some of the delicious coconut turnovers from T. Komoda General Store, then wandered into some of our favourite shops there. The Volcano Spice Guy (aka Stoner Dude) wasn’t opened AGAIN. But the clothing store that Nancy had been eying our last 2 visits, and wasn’t opened on either of those days, was. Nancy found a very cool hippie shirt and some sea glass earrings, then on to the airport to pick up our girl.
After we picked up Kara (and it was wonderful to see her!), we headed back to the condo to get rid of her baggage so she could change out of jeans and black t-shirt! hot, hot hot!!!
To Moose McGillicuddy’s next door for lunch – it was ok. Then off to get Kara some lighter clothes to wear! She’d perish if she wore what she brought. A couple of sundresses later, we wandered down to the beach for a bit. Steve headed straight for the water, while Nancy and Kara sat in the sun and visited. Kara FINALLY let Nancy take some pictures of her – the first time in years that she didn’t fight it!!!
We then hopped in the car and headed for the Shops at Wailea where we enjoyed Lapperts Ice Cream and wandered around. Nancy finally found some orthoheels – hopefully those will work for her. A quick stop at Long’s Drugs for Kara, then back to the condo for a glass of wine on the lanai before collapsing into bed.
