Day 14

Today is our last day so we got up and had one last breakfast on the lanai before getting everything all packed up and into the car. We had to check out early and then get through the day until our flight later in the evening. We said   goodbye to the condo once again and made our way down the steps, probably for the last time.

We needed one more bag for gifts we were bringing back so we stopped at Tommy Bahamas and got a weekender type carry-on bag for myself that is quite nice. A couple of new luggage tags and we’re set. We drove slowly through Kihei taking our time and had lunch at Jack in the Box. Finally got to try the sourdough cheeseburger, yum. Stopped at shops and beaches along the way up South Kihei and then North Kihei roads, passing the time and napping here and there. We needed to stay with the luggage so we could not go too far away from the car.

We stopped at Ma’alea Bay and had a Hula ice cream sandwich. I had Double Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies with Banana Macadamia Nut ice cream and Nancy had Coconut Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies and Chocolate Macadamia Nut Ice Cream. Delicious!  There was a great craft fair there as well, and Nancy could have spent a fortune there.  But she spent nothing!

Sadly it was getting near the late afternoon and that meant we had to head up near the airport. Took one last look in K-Mart to see if I could find any other music purchases but had no luck. Walked by a local who absolutely reeked of Maui Wowie. There was no denying it, I think I got a contact high…

Got to the airport, dropped off the rental car, got checked in and got through security. It was dark by now and we had to wait about an hour or so for our flight. Soon enough we were on board and taking off over the coast all lit up one last time by the full moon in the sky.
