Day 1
Woke up at 4:30 AM after going to bed last night just before midnight local time. Got to see our first Maui sunrise of the trip, it was fantastic as always. A little cloudy but worth it. Headed to Ulua beach after a quick breakfast on the lanai. Hearing the ocean again was awesome. The water was quite warm at 7:00 a.m. even though it was a bit cloudy. The waves were coming in pretty strong, so they were beautifully loud!!! ahhh… so relaxing.
For the most part, it was a chore day. We had picked up a few groceries and more than a few types of good stuff to drink last night, but today, we got a bit more, including papayas and apple-bananas for breakfasts.
Back at the condo, drinking a green apple vodka ice and trying to decide if we want to do a happy hour somewhere or just bbq on the lanai tonight. Such tough decisions on vacation!!!
The decision was to go to Tommy Bahamas for drinks and then we went to Ruth’s Chris for dinner. The best steaks we have ever had. Hands down. By then it was dark, so we found our way down past the Marriott where we jumped on a hammock and watched the tops of the palm trees above, waving in the wind, then down to the beach. All we could really see was the white of the wave as they washed up on shore. There was nobody else around and the waves were loud. So amazing.
